Resonance

You don't steer the dot — you shape the wave it rides.

Resonance — Wave Riding Game

Resonance is a free arcade game where you do not control the ship — you control the wave it rides. Your dot travels along a live sine wave, and dragging your thumb changes the shape of that wave: up and down for amplitude, left and right for frequency. Gates scroll toward you with a narrow slot cut into them, and the only way through is to tune your wave so its path lines up with the gap. The projected path is drawn ahead of you, so this is a game of aiming a shape rather than reacting.

How to play

  1. Drag up or down to make the wave taller or flatter; drag left or right to make it faster or slower.
  2. Watch the projected path drawn ahead of your dot — that is exactly where you will be when the gate arrives.
  3. Thread the slot in each gate. Slots near the middle want a flat wave; slots at the top and bottom want a tall one.
  4. You get three lives, and gates threaded is your score. On desktop, use ↑/↓ for amplitude and ←/→ for frequency.
