Blackout — Sonar Diving Game

Blackout is a free diving game played almost entirely in the dark. Your pod sinks down an endless winding cave shaft that is never drawn on screen — instead you tap to fire a sonar ping, an expanding ring that lights up whatever walls and mines it touches before they fade back to black. Every ping costs air, and air is the only thing keeping the run alive, so the deepest dives belong to players who ping rarely and navigate from memory.

How to play

  1. Drag left and right to steer the pod; it sinks on its own, faster the deeper you go.
  2. Tap anywhere to fire a sonar ping and reveal the cave walls and mines around you for a moment.
  3. Every ping burns air, and air drains slowly by itself — panic-pinging will end the dive early.
  4. Hitting a wall or a mine, or running out of air, ends the run, and your depth in metres is your score. On desktop, steer with ←/→ and ping with Space.
